Walhall, the paradise of the Nordmannen. Odin's drinking hall with an endless table where brave, fallen warriors can fill their bellies with mead and meat until the final battle. But that was not always the case: At first Valhöll was only imagined as a huge battlefield. The Valkyries were demons to whom the fallen warriors fell in battle. No glorious survival after the battle. Perhaps to end the despondency that created this notion in the hearts of the warriors, the Yalkyrar became the angel of death that led the deceased into the realm of the ancestors.
