The regular album... You want More?
The common thread of the album Eskhatophonia (“Sounds from the End of All Things”) is the end times and the prophecy of what might await us afterwards. The opener Morgenstern (Harpy) reports on Lucifer's fall and thus sets the stage for everything that happens afterwards. This Time It's Personal is a musical panic attack that addresses the turmoil of the human spirit. A fire spirit (Versengold) comes to a mead that will become lost love Ungeschickte Liebesbriefe (ASP). With its generous interpretation from the delicate intro to the massive climax, Burning Up comes across as impressive. The suffering of the soldier who no longer wants to kill in 10th Man Down (Nightwish) is more relevant than ever. Self-deception in Mirror Mirror leads to self-harm in Hurt (NIN). The inner conflict culminates in the desire to shed one's own skin (Skinless) until finally in Tribal Engel (Nightwish/Rammstein) all conventions of religion and society are broken. Laniakea ultimately looks hopefully to the stars to search for the big answers in the vastness of space. The bonus track Damn Happy (Renard) is also available exclusively on the physical CD.
The album is also visually impressive. A tarot card was dedicated to each song in the 28-page booklet. The illustrations were written by Heike Blauert-Lühe, Stimmgewalt-Member, the photos are from the exceptional Berlin photographer Andrey Krezzin.
