dead whispers

In the year 2007 Totleben started to write the first songs. His goal was, musically, to move in those realms that had once inspired him the most. He wanted to interweave the cold and the rage of black metal with the compositionally filigree structure of classical music. Since his work should not be merely instrumental nature, he soon turned to scar base, which he knew from a previous project and was good friends with him. He was given the task to provide the musical concept with a lyrical framework. But Totleben did not want to use more members during his creative period.
The focus was on creating a coherent and sophisticated piece of art. During this time, Totleben spent a lot of time creating artwork and graphics for other metal bands, such as Keep of Kalessin (Norway), Necronomicon (Canada), Imperium Decadence, Lyfthrasyr, and Unlight, where he came across Frostbitten requests. He told him about his passion for this kind of music and his intimate desire to be part of such a band. Totleben said he was passionate about Frostbitten's craft and skill on drums, so he became a regular member of the band, especially since they needed a permanent line-up to play live in the near future. In the winter 2012 appeared the first album, which bore the title "From Soul Death". A concept album which, depending on the way of looking at it, dealt with either the cruelty and terror of the night or that of human existence.

Since this work was received very positively and one even felt the deep desire to present it on the stages of this world, it was decided to follow a new path and in the winter 2013 two new members in the ranks Totengeflüsters incorporate. These listened to the name Rorschach, who dedicated his soul to the bass, as well as Frevelsaat, the second string sorcerer. From now on, it was possible for totem folk to present their art far away from sound recordings.

Since Totengeflüster's first work was particularly well received in Great Britain, despite all the organizational difficulties, the decision was made to play the debut concert in England. On August 23, 2014 the time had finally come: Whispers of the dead manifested themselves in flesh and sound at the Beermageddon Festival in Bromsgrove, not far from Birmingham. On October 10th, Totengeflüster conquered the domestic stages for the first time by wrapping Tübingen's “Epplehaus” in darkness on its sold out 2014th anniversary. Totengeflüster later joined the black metal band Unlight for two shows. These took place in November 2015 and June 2015. During this time the first ideas and concepts for the second album were developed. In November XNUMX Totengeflüster shared the stage with Negator and Eis in Stuttgart for their tour concluding concert ... But this was just the beginning ...

Between November 2014 and December 2015, Totengeflüster worked on their new album 'im nebel der Verbänlichkeit'. The work process related not only to composing new pieces, but also to designing thematically appropriate artwork and the music video, which was all created in-house. One day, on March 5, 2016, before Totengeflüster went to the studio to mix and master their new album, another concert was held in Tübingen together with Mor Dagor and Firtan in front of more than 150 paying guests. In the following days the musical part of the album was mixed and mastered by Andy Classen in Stage One Studios. Now, armed with their new work, Whispers of the Dead are once again ready to spread their symphonies of death and desolation.
